Georgia, Tbilisi /corr. Trend N.Kirskhalia / The Government of Georgia will make amendments to the Law on licenses and permits on quotas for transporters. The Parliamentary Secretary of the Georgian Government, Giya Khuroshvily, informed Trend that the amendment envisages eliminating the existing problems for the quotas for the transporters from Azerbaijan and the Ukraine.

"We are going to follow the quota in 1,500 units and not to allow their increase," Khuroshvily said, adding that the law will also mean amendments to administration of the transport sector involving routes from Azerbaijan and the Ukraine to Georgia.

Georgia has defined various quotas with several countries, but unlike these countries, Georgia provides permits for those who exceed the quota and it presents problems for the transporters from Georgia. Khuroshvily said that the key problems in this direction are linked with Azerbaijan and the Ukraine.

"The annual quota of Georgia with Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan with Georgia equals 1,500 cars. Presently Georgia has used the quota of 1,497 cars and according to official data. Azerbaijan used the quota of 120, but the real figure is more than 1,500, because we do not carry out the administration for cars and they move freely and Azerbaijan dos not increase the quota. Therefore, the amendments envisages regulating administration and bringing Azerbaijan to the table for talks," Khuroshvily underlined.
