Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The State Veterinary Service at the Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan made the decision to hold its bird flu prevention monitoring process sooner, Yolchu Khanvali, the State Veterinary Service's press secretary, said.
Prior to the announcement, the monitoring process was planned for October to the beginning of November. However, the outbreak of bird flu in the Russian Federation caused Azerbaijan officials to speed up measures taken in the country.
The monitoring will be held by a special commission consisting of the specialists of the Veterinary Service, Ecology Ministry, Health Ministry, and the Azerbaijani Hunter Community. The monitoring will be held in Absheron Peninsula, Davachi, Salyan, Agjabadi, and Lankaran regions.
The State Veterinary Service monitored areas eight times in 2007.
