Bakielektrikshebeke electricity distributor upped capacity in 2008

Baku electricity distributor Bakielektrikshebeke increased the capacity of the city's electricity-supply network to 3,877 from 3,701 megavolts/amperes in 2008, company spokesman Tanriverdi Mustafaye said. The electricity-supply network had a capacity of 2,848 megavolts/amperes in 2006.

In 2006-2008, Bakielektrikshebeke built 109 transformer stations. As many as 246 transformers were repaired. Roughly 720 new transformers were installed to supply customers with electricity.

About 300,000 meters produced in England were installed over this period.

The 2008 budget allocated 120 million manat to improve the electricity-supply network in 2008, compared to 57.9 million manat in 2007. The 2006 budget allocated 12 million manat for this purpose. Bakielektrikshebeke allocated 88 million manat to repair the network, Mustafayev said.
