Russia's proved gas reserves reduced: BP

As of Jan. 1, 2009, Russia's proved gas reserves reduced 20 billion cubic meters and totaled 43.3 trillion cubic meters compared to 43.32 trillion cubic meters in early 2008, BP world energy outlook said.

According to the BP estimations, Russia's proved gas reserves made up 23.4 percent of world gas reserves as of early 2009.

Russia's gas output totaled 601.7 billion cubic meters in 2008, a rise of 1.4 percent from 2007.

Russia's gas consumption reduced 1.6 percent and totaled 420.2 billion cubic meters in 2008.

As of Jan. 1, 2009, Russia's proved oil reserves was 79 billion barrels, 1.4 billion barrels less than the figure in early 2008. Russia's proved oil reserves made up 6.3 percent of world oil reserves in early 2009.

Russia's oil output was 9.886 million barrels per day in 2008, 0.8 percent less than the figure of 2007.

Oil consumption increased 3.1 percent and totaled 2.897 million barrels per day in 2008, the BP outlook said.
