Azerbaijan, Baku, June 19 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/

Gas consumption in Baku is stabilized and this figure is currently 4.5 million cubic meters per day, a source at the Bakgaz Production Unity (distribution and sale of gas in Baku) said on June 19.

"At present gas consumption in the city is averagely 4.5 million cubic meters per day. The consumption in the city is gradually stabilized," the source said.

The consumption in the spring has gradually decreased to the current level. The level of the gas consumption decreases due to the summer season.

The source said daily gas consumption in the city amounts to 3.8-4.5 million cubic meters in Baku.

In January-May, roughly 1.4 billion cubic meters of domestic gas was transmitted to Baku's gas system.

In May, Baku was supplied with around 141 million cubic meters of gas compared to roughly 226 million cubic meters of gas in April.

Baku's system was supplied with 2.45 billion cubic meters of gas by PU in 2008.

PU refused from season gas supply (summer and winter seasons) in Baku's gas system in 2008. Volume of supplied gas is determined by consumers' demand. Introduction of season regime was connected with lack of gas meters among most part of population. As a result population used gas irrationally. Presently, 100 percent of users of Baku's system were provided with gas meters, a source said.

Earlier, daily gas supply hits 3-4 million cubic meters in summer but 10-13 million cubic meters in winter.
