KazMunayGas (KMG) talks with SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) on the gas price for the KazTransGaz-Tbilisi network for winter season, Managing Director of the company's Gas Projects, Daniyar Berlibayev, told journalists on Sept. 23.

"Currently, the company contracts for gas in winter season for KazTransGaz-Tbilisi. At present, we are negotiating with SOCAR on gas price for Georgia," Berlibayev added.

Berlibayev did not mention the specific cost, referring to the fact that negotiations are not finished yet. "In 2009, the average weighted price for the Azerbaijani gas was about $190 per 1, 000 cubic meters. All sellers want to increase the price and buyers - to reduce. Currently, we are in the negotiation process and it is too early to say that the price will be changed cardinally in the upward or downward. But I can say unequivocally that contract with SOCAR will continue," Berlibayev added.

Regarding Georgia's claims to KazTransGaz about KazTransGaz-Tbilisi, Berlibayev said that it was not a claim and the negotiations are currently taking place within the economic activities.

Regarding the sale of the asset, if there are suggestions, we are ready to consider them, but we are continuing work in this company," head of KMG, Kayirgeldy Kabyldin said.
