In 2009, the Georgian International Black Sea commercial port of Poti transshipped about 6.1 million tons of various cargo compared to 8 million tons in 2008, the Georgian government said.
In 2009, the port transshipped 900,000 tons of liquid cargo compared to one million tons in 2008. The port mainly transships petroleum products transported from Azerbaijan and transiting through Azerbaijan - from Central Asia.
Some 5.2 million tons of the total volume fell to dry cargo compared to 7 million tons in 2008.
The port has 15 berths.
