The Czech company Energo-Pro Georgia purchased a 25-percent stake in the Chitakhevi-Borjomi Hydro-Power Plant (HPP) this week from Georgian Railways. The purchase brings Energo-Pro Georgia's share in the company's capital to 100 percent.
Georgian Railways auctioned its shares for 6.3 million lari. Only one company placed a bid.
Energo-Pro Georgia is wholly owned by the Czech Energo-Pro a.s. The company entered the Georgian energy market on June 29, 2007. Energo-Pro Georgia provides electricity generation and distribution services throughout Georgia.
