Kazakhstan set to explore its little-studied territories

Intensification of exploration of insufficiently explored territories is planned in Kazakhstan, First Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Makhambet Dosmukhambetov said, Trend reports with reference to the press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

He made the statement during a press conference on the topic of implementation of investment projects in the oil and gas industry, held in the Government press center.

According to Dosmukhambetov the intensification of exploration in promising little-studied territories of Kazakhstan is planned along with offshore projects.

The Ministry of Energy, together with the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, is planning to adopt a Geological Exploration Program for 2021-2025 in 2020, he noted.

“The most promising basins for further study are identified: the Aral, Syrdarya, Shu-Sarysuysky, Severo-Turgaysky, Irtysh,” vice minister said.

He further added that due to areas becoming more explored, the attraction of investments into subsoil use is planned in the future.
