Iran to increase production of Sarvestan, Saadatabad oil fields

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13

Petro Sahel Ofogh Kish (PESOK) won the tender to conduct a detailed study of the existing Saadatabad and Sarvestan oil fields in the Fars Province (southern Iran), Executive Director of PESOK Nima Baghersaei said, Trend reports citing the company’s official portal.

The director stressed that the tender was held by Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC).

Baghersaei added that the project, which aims at further development of fields and increasing production, will last 18 months.

According to him, in addition, rapid exploration will be carried out during six months.

Iran's Sarvestan oil field is located 110 km south of the Shiraz city in Fars Province, and the Saadatabad oil field is located 20 km north of the Sarvestan field.

So far, six wells have been drilled in the Sarvestan oil field and eight - in the Saadatabad oil field. The oil extracted from these fields is transported to the Shiraz oil Refinery via a 10-inch pipeline. The two fields contain a total of 1.4 billion barrels of crude oil, and 15,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted from the fields per day.
