Iran discloses amount of revenues obtained by saving liquid fuel

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 9

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Iran has obtained $11 billion worth of revenues by saving 34 billion liters of liquid fuel during the current government (which has been in power since 2013), Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hassan Montazer Torbati said, Trend reports referring to the Shana news agency.

He made the remark at an event held on gas supplying to several regions of the Fars Province (southwestern Iran).

The deputy minister said that liquid fuel savings have been achieved by supplying gas to enterprises, villages, power plants, other facilities in various provinces.

Monatez Torbati added that the revenues will be reached to $28 billion until March 20, 2024.

“Thus, the Chabahar and Iranshahr thermal power plants in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iranian) will be supplied with gas until then,” he noted.

The director emphasized that the gas supplying instead of liquid fuel to power plants in Iran since 2013 has led to great results. So, if this replacement was not made, 150 billion liters of liquid fuel might be consumed during the reporting period.

According to him, the number of villages supplied with gas in Iran will be reached to 40,000 by the end of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021).

Montazer Torbati noted 30 trillion rials (about $714 million) was spent on gas supplying in Fars Province during the current government. And the number of villages supplied with gas increased from 677 to 2,160 units," he said.
