By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Danish Haldor Topsoe is interested in discussing all aspects of decarbonization with Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, the company told Trend.

“Our business in Azerbaijan was previously focused on the traditional range of Topsoe technologies and catalysts. The ammonia plant is one of the existing areas of cooperation. Today, a global energy transformation is ongoing, and Haldor Topsoe is proud to contribute to solving the climate challenge. Decarbonization and the new green agenda is part of our discussions with clients all over the world. We know SOCAR as one of global energy companies in Azerbaijan – and also interested in discussing all aspects of decarbonization,” said the company.

Haldor Topsoe noted that it invests around 8 percent of its revenue in R&D, enabling the company to carry out market-driven research into catalysis and process technologies.

“For decades, we have focused on the environmental aspects, including energy efficiency, emissions and carbon footprint. Lately, the climate challenge has certainly added new focus and interest to these areas, and we can proudly say that Haldor Topsoe offers a wide range of solutions related to decarbonization. Some are in commercial operation today, others are in the demonstration phase.

Our focus areas in the renewables sphere include solutions based on both renewable power (electricity) – what is known as Power-to-X – and on renewable feedstocks,” said Haldor Topsoe.
