Turkmenistan is working on drilling new wells in the west of the country at the local oil fields, Trend reports citing a message from the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.
In particular, in the Balkan region, large-scale work is underway to develop rich oil fields.
While work is carried out to drill new wells, existing productive wells are transferred to the gas-lift method of operation (gas-lift is the lifting of liquid with the help of compressed gas, in particular, air).
The work carried out significantly contributes to an increase in the volume of oil produced here.
In the first half of 2021, 566,000 tons of oil were produced in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan.
