By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

A medium-size thermal power plant will soon be built in the Zahedan County of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran), an official of Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) Behnam Khaefinejad said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Khaefinejad noted that the power plant, which can generate 84 megawatt-hours of electricity, will have two 42-megawatt gas units.

The official added that MAPNA Group has been designated as a contractor and in this regard a contract will be signed soon.

"According to the plan, both units of the power plant will be launched by the summer of 2023," he said.

Khaefinejad stressed that it is planned to build a 230-kilovolt substation to connect the power plant to the country's electricity network. The contractor will be determined within the next month.
