Eni talks 3Q2021 operational results in Kazakhstan

Italian Eni oil and gas company was producing 119,000 barrels of oil and natural gas per day in Kazakhstan over 3Q2021, which is 17.3 percent less than 144,000 barrels of oil and natural gas per day over 3Q2020, Trend reports citing the company’s operational results.

The volume of oil and natural gas production over nine months of 2021 was 140,000 barrels per day, which also is 13.5 percent less than 162,000 barrels per day over 9M2020.

Furthermore, liquid production in Kazakhstan amounted to 89,000 barrels per day in 3Q2021, which is 11.8 percent less than 101,000 barrels per day in 3Q2020. Liquid production over 9M2021 was 97,000 barrels per day, which is compared to 110,000 barrels per day over 9M2020 (down by 11.8 percent).

Natural gas production was 161 million standard cubic feet per day over 3Q2021 and 228 million standard cubic feet per day over 9M2021, which is 30.6 percent and 17.09 percent less than during the same period last year.

Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992, where it is a joint operator of the Karachaganak field and an equity partner in various projects in the Northern Caspian Sea, including the Kashagan giant field.

The Kashagan field is one of the three largest oil fields located in the northern part of the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. Its recoverable reserves reach approximately 9-13 billion barrels (1-2 billion tons) of oil.
