Iran to sign new contracts in oil sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. As many as 8 oil contracts will be signed with local petrochemical companies in Tehran on May 15, 2022, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr told reporters, Trend reports.

He made the remark in a press conference held in connection with the 26th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran.

The deputy minister stressed that the total value of these contracts is about $3 billion.

Khojasteh Mehr also added that since the current Iranian government took office (August 2021), $16.5 billion worth of contracts and memorandums were signed in the country. Of this, $4.5 billion is related to contracts, while $12 billion is to memorandums.

“The share of the National Iranian Oil Company in the signed contracts and memorandums is $9.6 billion,” he noted.
