Iran eyes to launch new solar panel power plants in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. As many as 7 solar panel power plants that can generate a total of 32 megawatt-hours of electricity will be installed in Iran’s Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, Executive Director of the Electricity Distribution Company of the province Jamal Motamedizadeh said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Motamedizadeh, 2 solar panel stations with a capacity to generate 14 megawatt-hours of electricity will be built in Charam County, 1 station of 4 megawatt-hours - in Boyer-Ahmad County, 1 station of 4 megawatt-hours - in Bahmai County, 2 stations of 8 megawatt-hours - in Gachsaran County and 1 station of 2 megawatt-hours - in Kohgiluyeh County.

“In total, 6.5 trillion rials (about $155 million) will be spent on the installation of the mentioned power plants,” he said.

The director stressed that after the launch of these power plants, 80 people will be provided with jobs in the province.

Motamedizadeh also pointed out that currently, 69 solar panel stations with a total capacity of 1 megawatt-hour are operating in the province.
