BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. The value of oil exports from Iran’s Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Bushehr Province (southern Iran), increased by 50 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Managing Director of the zone Sakhavat Asadi told reporters in Khuzestan Province on February 8, Trend reports referring to Shana News Agency.

Asadi noted that over $11 billion worth of oil products were exported from the mentioned zone in 10 months.

The director added that about a third of the country's export income is provided through this zone. So far, approximately $150 billion has been invested in this zone.

“More than 70 percent of gas consumed in the country, as well as 50 percent of petrochemical products are produced in Iran’s Pars Special Economic Energy Zone,” he said.

The Pars Energy Special Economic Zone is located on 46,000 hectares of land in Iran’s Bushehr Province.

As reported, Iran currently produces 977 million cubic meters of rich gas per day. After processing, 843 million cubic meters of gas are supplied to the country's gas network daily. On average, 600 million cubic meters of gas are consumed daily in Iran.

Overall, Iran produced 41.5 million tons of petrochemical products within the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), which is an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
