BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. The volume of oil products’ exports from Azerbaijan has almost doubled year-on-year, Trend reports.

The State Customs Committee reveals that the country supplied to world markets 479,451 tons of petroleum products in the first five months of 2023, as compared to 245,287 tons in the same period in 2022, showing an increase by 1.95 times year-on-year.

The revenues from exports almost doubled from $143.5 million from January through May 2022 to $284.5 million in the same period in 2023.

Azerbaijan transports oil to neighboring countries and global markets through Baku-Novorossiysk, Baku-Supsa, and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipelines. Currently, transportation via the Baku-Supsa pipeline is suspended. Additionally, oil is exported by rail to the Georgian terminals in Batumi and Kulevi.
