BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. In July 2023, the STAR oil refinery, owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey, received a total of 835,435 tons of oil, Trend reports.
This represents a decline of 14.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022 when the refinery received 981,904 tons.
According to the report by the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority, during this period, the refinery produced various products, including 538,079 tons of diesel fuel, 138,232 tons of aviation fuel, 126,202 tons of other products, 15,557 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, 135,456 tons of naphtha, 61,279 tons of petcoke, and 40,515 tons of refinery gas.
STAR oil refinery, valued at $6.3 billion in investment, commenced operations in October 2018, with approximately $3.3 billion of the project's cost covered by loans. The overall investment in the STAR refinery is anticipated to reach $7 billion.
The STAR refinery boasts an annual refining capacity of approximately 10 million tons, with the capability to process 214 000 barrels of crude oil per day.
