BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. The export of electricity from Azerbaijan amounted to 1.8 billion kWh from January through September 2023, which is 31 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, the import of electricity in the reporting period amounted to 179.6 million kWh (an increase of 1.9 times).
In addition, electricity exports from Azerbaijan amounted to 313.4 million kWh, and imports - 10.3 million kWh in September.
Electricity production from renewable energy sources (RES), including hydroelectric power plants, exceeded 1.7 billion kWh from January through September 2023.
In particular, electricity generation amounted to 21.5 billion kWh (an increase of 28.2 million kWh) in Azerbaijan from January through September of this year.
