Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr U. Ismayilova / McDermott Caspian Contractors Inc, a branch of J Ray McDermott SL operating in the Caspian Sea, signed a contract with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) envisaging the construction of an underwater gas pipeline in the SOCAR-owned Bahar field in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian Sea, according to a report by McDermott.
Under the contract McDermott will construct a low-pressure gas pipeline with a width of 20 inches, length of 66.5km, 30m below water. The pipeline will link the gas-separation point in the Oil Rocks field and gas-measuring pant in Bahar field.
The construction work will begin in the last quarter of this year. Israfil Huseynov pipe-laying vessel will be used for this purpose.
