Volume of money transfers from abroad to Georgia increases

The volume of money transfers from abroad to Georgia constituted $151 million in November 2019, Trend reports referring to National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

This is 13.3 percent ($17.8 million) more than the amount in November 2018.

Some 94.1 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 18 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding $1 million in November 2019.

In November 2019, Georgia received money transfers worth $55.7 million from the EU countries, including $19.8 million from Italy, $15.8 million from Greece, $4.5 million from Germany, $3.8 million from Spain, $2.8 million from Poland, - $1.9 million from France, $1.4 million from the UK, $1.5 million from Cyprus.

As reported, $37.9 million was sent from Russia to Georgia, $14.4 million from the US, $13.7 million from Israel, $7.8 million from Turkey, $4.2 million from Ukraine, $3 million from Kazakhstan, $4.5 million from Kyrgyzstan, $1.7 million from Azerbaijan, $1.2 million from Canada.

In November 2019, $21.9 million was transferred from Georgia, which is 11.1 percent more compared to $19.7 million in November 2018.
