Annual turnover on stock market at Baku Stock Exchange decreases

The total turnover at the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) market amounted to slightly over 14 billion manat ($8.2 billion) in 2019, which is 2.4 times less than in the same month of 2018, Trend reports referring to the BSE.

During the year, the volume of turnover decreased by 40.1 percent, according to the report.

For the reporting year, the turnover on the debt instrument market amounted to 12.9 million manat ($7.5 million), having decreased by 8.2 percent compared to 2018.

The turnover on the stock market for 2019 amounted to 4.9 million manat ($2.9 million), while in 2018, the turnover amounted to 214.7 million manat ($126.2 million). Repo (repurchase agreement) turnover for 2019 amounted to 1.1 billion manat ($660.5 million).

The average volume of total turnover amounted to 1.1 billion manat ($687.6 million) in 2019, decreasing by 40 percent compared to 2018, the average turnover on the debt instrument market – slightly over 1 billion manat ($632.9 million), decreasing by 9 percent.

In the stock market, the average turnover amounted to 412,000 manat ($242,352) in 2019, which is 42 times less than in 2018. In the repo market, the average turnover amounted to 93.5 million manat ($55 million), which is 71.5 percent more than in 2018.
