Azerbaijan reveals data on population's bank deposits countrywide

The total volume of bank deposits of Azerbaijani residents amounted to 8.18 billion manat ($4.81 billion) as of early January 2021, which is 5.3 percent or 460 million manat ($270.5 million) less compared to early January 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

At the same time, about 10.29 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for about 10.29 percent of all bank deposits in the country, said the CBA report.

About 49.2 percent or 4.03 billion manat ($2.37 billion) of all deposits in Azerbaijan accounted for the national currency.

According to the report, the total volume of deposits In Baku amounted to over 7.3 billion manat, of which 3.3 billion manat ($1.94 billion) - in the national currency (45 percent).

The average annual deposit rate in the country at the beginning of January 2021 was 3.07 percent, in Baku - 2.97 percent.
