The Azerbaijani population's total bank deposits as of August 1, 2021, Trend reports referring to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this indicator amounted to 8.6 billion manat ($5 billion), up by 831.7 million manat ($489.2 million) or 10.7 percent compared to Aug. 1, 2020.
Some 11 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for the Azerbaijani districts, the CBA report said.
Besides, 4.76 billion manat ($2.8 billion) or 55.3 percent of the population’s bank deposits accounted for the national currency, the report reads.
The total volume of deposits reached 7.6 billion manat ($4.4 billion) in Baku, of which 3.9 billion ($2.3 billion) - in national currency (51.6 percent).
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate throughout the country as of Aug.1, 2021, amounted to 3.36 percent, and in Baku – 3.22 percent.
