Iran shares data on buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange

A total of 636,000 tons of goods worth more than 104 trillion rials (about $2.47 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (August 21 through August 26, 2021), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

While in the preceding Iranian week (August 14 through August 19, 2021), 1.28 million tons of goods worth more than 57 trillion rials (about $1.35 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME).

According to the report, about 310,000 tons of goods worth about 53.6 trillion rials (about $1.28 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

"About 227,000 tons of steel, 5,720 tons of copper, 6,000 tons of aluminum, 120 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 18 tons of precious metal concentrate, 510 tons of zinc ingots, 11,000 tons of cement, 50,000 tons of iron ore, and 10,000 tons of sponge iron were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 323,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 49.5 trillion rials (about $1.18 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 49,400 tons of vacuum bottom, 55,600 tons of bitumen, 99,800 tons of polymeric substances, 42,300 tons of chemicals, 32,000 tons of lube cut, 3,000 tons of base oil, 125 tons of facades and 860 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 2,500 tons of various products worth 420 billion rials (about $10 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.

At the same time, 610 kg of saffron worth 70.6 billion rials (about $1.68 million) was sold in the agricultural section of the exchange.
