BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 6

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

VISA International payment corporation has invested about $9 billion over the past few years in the development of its information technology and cybersecurity, vice president and regional manager of VISA in Central Asia and Azerbaijan Kristina Dorosh told Trend.

According to Dorosh, the security of online payments is a fundamental principle of the VISA company.

“When developing solutions, technologies and innovations within our company, we first think about the security of these solutions, their compliance with international information security standards and Visa security standards. We will never launch a product on the market that has not passed the required safety certification. We take this issue very responsibly and believe that innovations are needed not for the sake of trends, but for the sake of their application,” she said.

She added that for 60 years, the company has been able to win the trust of its partners and VISA card users, and VISA will continue to build on success in this direction.

"Over the past five years, the company has invested about $9 billion in the development of its information technology and cybersecurity," Dorosh stressed.

The vice president also said that the company is assisting its partners in creating systems for protecting, controlling and monitoring information.

Dorosh noted that the main targets of cybercriminals are financial institutions.

"We are working together with banks to build systems of protection against external and internal threats," she said.
