Iran’s CBI discloses data on balance of bank loans

The balance of bank loans in Iran increased by 46.6 percent in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the report, the balance of bank loans amounted to 35.5 quadrillion rials (about $845 billion) in 7 months.

The balance of deposits also increased by 45 percent within 7 months, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the balance of bank deposits in Iran amounted to 48.4 quadrillion rials (about $1.15 trillion) over the reporting period.

Below is the balance of loans, foreign currency deposits of banks and financial institutions for the reported seven-month period, according to the official exchange rate ($1=42,000 rials):
