The volume of loans issued in the capital and regions of Azerbaijan in January 2022 grew, Trend reports via the Central Bank of the country (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 16.7 billion manat ($9.8 billion), up by 2.5 billion manat ($1.47 billion), or 18 percent compared to January 2021 (14.2 billion manat or $8.3 billion).
In the first month of this year, loans worth 13.1 billion manat ($7.7 billion) were issued in Baku, which is 3.56 times higher than in the regions.
In the capital, 8.8 billion manat ($5.1 billion) of the loans were issued in Azerbaijan's manat, which is 67.74 percent of total lending in Baku.
The average annual interest rate on loans in the country amounted to 11.89 percent, and in Baku – 10.34 percent.
