Average number of users per payment terminal down in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. The average number of users per payment terminal, including ATMs and POS terminals, in Azerbaijan, decreased from January through July 2022, Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 3,800, down by 3.55 percent on annual basis.

The average monthly amount of transactions per ATM in the first seven months of this year reached 919,060 manat or $540,620 (3,560 transactions), which is 23.6 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

Besides, the average monthly value of one transaction through an ATM in the specified period amounted to 257.5 manat ($151.4), the average monthly value of transactions through one POS terminal – was 8,430 manat ($4,960), and the average monthly value of one transaction through a POS-terminal - 37.4 manat ($22).

Meanwhile, a total of 2,944 ATMs operated in Azerbaijan, of which 1,554 were in Baku and 1,390 were in other cities and regions of the country.

The number of ATMs in the country increased by 4.25 percent compared to the first seven months of last year.

The number of POS terminals in Azerbaijan from January through July 2022 was 70,663 (an increase of 17.78 percent over the year).

According to the CBA, 47,374 of these are installed in Baku, and 23,289 - in other cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
