Working capital of agricultural sector gets most loans from Iran's banks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. The agricultural sector of Iran received loans amounting to 677 trillion rials (about $16.1 billion) from Iranian banks in the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), Trend reports.

The loans were allocated for various purposes in the agricultural sector, such as:

- Working capital: approximately 477 trillion rials (about $11.3 billion);

- Establishment of enterprises and cultivation of gardens and arable lands: 137 trillion rials (about $3.26 billion);

- Development work: 43.8 trillion rials (about $1.04 billion);

- Self-employment: 17.4 trillion rials ($415 million);

- Purchase of personal assets: 1.19 trillion rials (about $28.4 million);

- Purchase of housing: 203 billion rials (about $4.83 million);

- Repairs: 9 billion rials (about $214,000).

In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 11.2 quadrillion rials (about $267 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.
