By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

The number of subscribers of CDMA wireless communication of Baku Telephone Communication LLC has decreased by 3 percent since early 2018, a source in the country's telecommunications market told Trend.

Presently, the number of Baku Telephone Communication’s subscribers using CDMA wireless communication is around 6,800, the source said.

The need for CDMA communication service is losing its relevance, which is stipulated by the expansion of LTE services in the settlements where previously the subscribers mainly used CDMA. Another reason is the lack of ability to organize high-speed broadband services on the basis of CDMA.

Twenty-four CDMA base stations are used in Baku Telephone Communication’s network. The network covers Baku city and Absheron peninsula.
