Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 4

By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

The system for issuing e-signatures to non-residents was launched in Azerbaijan, head of Azexport portal Zaur Gardashev told Trend Sept. 4.

“The e-signature certificates are issued through the National Certification Services Center,” he added.

"The applications of non-residents for getting e-signatures are accepted in e-form or in the embassies of Azerbaijan,” Gardashev said. “One can get the e-signature within 10 days after the appeal. The e-signature is issued at the embassies.”

“Presently, certificates are not issued in the embassies,” he said. “However, in the future this possibility will be realized. Everything will depend on the country with a great need for e-signature.”

Having received an e-signature, non-residents will be able to carry out the necessary operations outside the country. For example, non-residents will be able to conduct operations for the registration of LLCs, open bank accounts, certify notarial acts, use the services of the e-government portal, send tax returns, conduct import and export operations, etc.

According to the legislation, Azerbaijani citizens who live outside the country for more than 180 days receive non-resident status.
