Bakcell Ltd has signed an agreement with the Cyprian mobile operator Cyprus Areeba Ltd, Trend reports quoting the Company.
Cyprus Areeba Ltd. became Bakcell's second partner in providing roaming services in Ireland. The first partner was Cytamobile-Vodafone. In general Bakcell has signed a total of 223 roaming agreements with mobile operators.
Bakcell Company was created in 1994 as a joint venture in co-operation with the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology of Azerbaijan. In 1994, Bakcell began its activities as a company providing analogous services (ЕТАСS). However, from December 1998, Bakcell began to apply modern communication technology GSM. The process of privatization of Bakcell was completed in December 2003. Today the Company provides services for more than 700,000 subscribers.
