US Ambassador acquainted with economic, tourist opportunities of Georgia's Adjara

Georgian Adjara region's Prime Minister Tornike Rizhvadze met with US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, Trend reports via Georgian media.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the investment opportunities in Adjara, as well as planned measures to stimulate the economy and strengthen tourism potential in the area.

“During the meeting with the US ambassador, we discussed the existing relations between the US and Georgia, as well as specific programs implemented with US support in Adjara, in various municipalities. In addition, we discussed events that are relevant in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Rizhvadze.

At the meeting, it was noted that Adjara plans to implement various measures to attract tourists in compliance with established safety standards in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

“A very interesting meeting was held with the Chairman of the Government of Adjara. We talked about the difficulties caused by COVID-19 and the ways of economic recovery, as well as about the positive and ambitious plans that we have with regard to Georgia, in particular with regard to Adjara,” Degnan said, commenting on the talks with Rizhvadze.

In addition, the parties discussed the results achieved in the field of defense and security between the two countries, as well as emphasized the possibility of further deepening economic relations.
