Iran discloses volume of loaded and unloaded cargo in Bushehr province

Some 2.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port of Iran’s southern Bushehr province during 10 months (from March 21 through January 20) of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019), Director General of the Ports and Maritime Administration of the province Siyavush Arjumenzadeh said.

“Some 1.2 million tons of cargo were unloaded while 1.3 million tons of cargo were loaded,” Arjumenzadeh added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

“Most of the vessels transporting less than 1,000 tons of cargo moored to the Bushehr port during 10 months of this Iranian year, which is an increase of 7.9 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year,” the director general said.

“Some 99,800 passengers were transported between Bushehr and Kharg island during the reporting period,” the director general said. “Passenger transportation increased by 4 percent during 10 months of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last Iranian year.”

“This port is one of the main ports in the province in terms of export,” the director general said. “Thus, 300,000 tons of products were exported to Qatar during the 10th month (from December 21 through January 20).”

“A tourism platform will be established in Deylam, Genaveh, Deyr and Kangan ports of the Bushehr province next Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2020),” Arjumenzadeh said.

Bushehr, Genaveh, Deylam, Rig, Deyr, Kangan, Nakhl Taqi and Assaluyeh ports operate in Bushehr province.
