Iran sees rise in cargo movement in Amirabad port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 8

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 12 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 211,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 45,900 tons were loaded and about 165,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, about 42,300 tons of cargo were exported and 159,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the fifth month.

Within the 5th month, 3,440 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,540 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 46 tons of cargo were loaded and 296 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the fifth month.

"So, 156,000 tons of essential products, 11,400 tons of metal products, 31,400 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,130 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.

Moreover, 1,720 tons of chemicals, 596 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 412 tons of container products, 8,230 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fifth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.29 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
