The cargo transportation on the Azerbaijani segment of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) had decreased from January through July 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, in the reporting period 23.67 million tons of cargo had been transported through the section, down 3.3 percent on annual basis.
In terms of ton kilometrage, the cargo transportation in Azerbaijan amounted to over 5.5 billion ton-kilometers, which is 0.64 percent more compared to a year earlier, the committee said.
The volume of goods transported by road totaled 13.3 million tons, or 56.2 percent of the overall volume of cargo transportation, by rail – over 7.6 million tons (32.5 percent), and by the sea – more than 2.6 million tons (11.3 percent).
Reportedly, out of the total volume of cargo transportation, transit exceeded 5.3 million tons (22.4 percent).
