The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) decreased by about 8 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 23 through December 21, 2021), compared to the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 288,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the ninth month. Of this, about 271,000 tons were loaded and 17,400 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, 271,000 tons of cargo were exported and 16,900 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

Also, 71 tons of cargo were loaded and 394 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 392 tons of cargo were loaded and 37 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the same time period.

According to the statistics, 4,940 tons of essential products, 22,300 tons of metal products, 243,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,710 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 34 tons of chemicals, 3,250 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 154 tons of small and assorted goods, 11,100 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the ninth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.28 million tons were loaded and 5.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 8.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
