BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Engels flour plant in Russia’s Saratov region will export some part of its products to Iran in transit through Azerbaijan by rail, Trend reports with reference to Russian media.
According to information, the plant signed a cooperation agreement with the Volga Directorate for the Management of the Terminal Warehouse Complex in March, 2022 and it is planned that the first transshipment work will begin in April, 2022.
Many Russian enterprises are looking for new markets for their products and redirecting them to Asia in the context of Western sanctions.
“Saratov flour will be loaded and sent from the Anisovka station (Volga Railway) of Russia’s Saratov region to Azerbaijan’s Astara station and then delivered to Iran. The monthly volume of parties will be 2,000 tons (36 covered wagons),” the report said.
