BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 6.7 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, 202,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 2nd month. Of this, about 181,000 tons were loaded and 21,700 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 128,000 tons of cargo were exported and 5,520 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 2nd month, 898 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,720 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 51,200 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 36 tons of cargo were loaded, while 9,430 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 2nd month.
“So, 62,000 tons of essential products, 3,660 tons of metal products, 62,200 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,520 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 33 tons of chemicals, 57 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5 tons of small and assorted goods, 9,530 tons of container products, and 62,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
