BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 16. A total 731.4 million passengers were transported in Kazakhstan by all means of transport in October 2022, which is 12.7 percent less than in October 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, the volume of passengers transported over the period from January through October 2022 amounted to 5.9 billion people, which is 2.8 percent more year-on-year compared to 5.7 billion over last year.

Thus, the majority of the passengers were transported to Kazakhstan’s Almaty city. The number of passengers transported in the city amounted to 201.06 million people in October and 1.5 billion people over the reporting period of 2022, which is 16 percent less and 1.8 percent less than during the same period last year, respectively.

Almaty city is followed by the Kostanay region with 66.2 million people transported in October 2022 (a decrease of 7.4 percent compared to October 2021). The number of passengers transported in the region during the reporting period amounted to 559.6 million people, which compared to 526.03 million during the same period last year, indicates a 6.4-percent increase.

Pavlodar region takes third place country-wide by the passengers transported in October 2022 (61.3 million people, up by 1.4 percent). The number of passengers transported in the region over the period from January through October 2022 amounted to 483.4 million, which is 5.4 percent more than during the same period last year (458.6 million people).

The least passenger volume was recorded in the Mangystau region. The transported passenger volume stood at 3.4 million in October 2022, which is 7.6 percent less than in October 2021.

The volume of passengers transported over nine months of 2022 was 29.8 million, which is 12.9 percent more year-on-year.
