BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Genaveh port in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran), increased by 9.4 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
More than 143,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Genaveh port for the last Iranian year. Some 40,300 tons of cargo were loaded and 103,000 tons were unloaded.
Also, 12,600 tons of cargo were exported and about 42,100 tons were imported through the Genaveh port during the reporting period.
At the same time, 27,300 tons of cargo were loaded and 21,800 tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage.
In addition, 14,600 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for transshipment, and 339 tons were loaded and 24,500 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the last Iranian year.
Thus, 88 tons of essential products, 12,400 tons of construction materials and mining products, 52 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 30 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 116,000 tons of small and assorted products and 14,600 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded at the Genaveh port in the last Iranian year.
Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
