ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 12. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to improve the management of the field of ship transport, Trend reports.
According to the official source of Turkmenistan, the relevant instructions were given to the Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakiyev at a government meeting.
The President addressed specific instructions to the head of the agency on further improving the management of the maritime and river transport industry in accordance with international standards, introducing world best practices in this area, strengthening partnerships with foreign companies engaged in international cargo transportation.
Meanwhile, according to the 7-year program of socio-economic development of the country, 12 vessels are planned to be built at the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant of Turkmenistan until 2025.
