BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 25.4 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
As reflected in the data of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), more than 141,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port in the third month. Of this, nearly 122,000 tons were loaded and 19,500 tons were unloaded.
Within the third month, 93,100 tons of cargo were exported and 7,200 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port.
Also, 290 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,390 tons were unloaded at the port for transit over the reporting month.
At the same time, 28,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 550 tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage, as well as 29 tons of cargo loaded and 7,360 tons unloaded for other purposes during the 3rd month.
Some 51,700 tons of essential products, 194 tons of metal products, 43,700 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,910 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Bahonar port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 14 tons of chemicals, 3,700 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 7,900 tons of container products, and about 31,300 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
In total, about 13.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of that, 5.55 million tons were loaded and 7.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
