ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 27. During the construction of the Turkmenbashi-Farab and Ashgabat-Dashoguz highways and the bridge over the Garabogazgol Bay, capital investments in the amount of 545.05 million Turkmen manats ($156.02 million) will be mastered in Turkmenistan by the end of this year, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at a meeting of the People's Council of the country held on September 24, 2023.
"We are creating all the necessary conditions to increase the capacity of the construction industry and develop the production base of entrepreneurship in this direction," the president stressed.
He noted that the country has accumulated considerable experience in the production of non-metallic building materials, including cement, expanded clay, and construction glass.
The head of state stressed the need to develop certain industries in the country in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
"To this end, joint projects and programs should be developed for the further development of industrial marketing directions, increasing the competitiveness of entering world markets, and improving managerial experience," Berdimuhamedov stressed.
Meanwhile, the transport sector of Turkmenistan plays an important role in the development of the economy and ensuring communication between different regions and countries. The main components of this sector are an extensive railway network, highways, and port infrastructure that contribute to the development of international trade and communication between different regions of Turkmenistan.
