United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit Kazakhstan with a working visit, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi said, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.
According to Tleuberdi, the visit is planned for Feb.1-2, 2020.
Pompeo was to visit Kazakhstan in the beginning of Jan. 2020, however due to scheduling conflicts, the visit did not happen.
The development of a comprehensive partnership with the US is one of the main priorities of our country's foreign policy. Political dialogue is being consistently developed at all levels, including the highest one.
At the current stage, the Kazakh-American cooperation is determined by the agreements reached as a result of the official visit of First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the United States (January 15-18, 2018), during which the two leaders adopted the Joint Statement ‘Kazakhstan and United States: An Enhanced Strategic Partnership for the 21st Century’.
