BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 2. Kazakhstan plans to increase the throughput capacity of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) from 53.7 to 72.5 million tons per year, Bulat Aqchulaqov, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, said at a briefing, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry.

The project to eliminate bottlenecks on the Kazakhstan section of the CPC will be completed in 2023, the minister said.

According to Aqchulaqov, in 2022, Kazakhstan boosted production of oil products. By the main types of oil products: gasoline production amounted to 5 million tons, diesel fuel - 5.2 million tons, aviation kerosene - 0.67 million tons, and fuel oil - 2.84 million. tons. In addition, 0.94 million tons of bitumen were produced.

He noted that Kazakhstan intends to develop alternative oil export routes.

"The focus will be on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) in the direction of the ports of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, as well as export destinations to China and Iran," he said.
