ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 28. The Italian Eni's production of oil and natural gas in Kazakhstan amounted to 163 kboe/d (kilo barrel of oil equivalent per day) from January through December 2023, Trend reports.
According to Eni production results, in the same period in 2022, this figure was 126 kboe/d.
In addition, oil and gas production in Kazakhstan in the fourth quarter amounted to 178 kboe/d, which is 18 percent more than the same period in 2022 (150 kboe/d).
Meanwhile, Eni's hydrocarbon production in 4Q2023 averaged 1.71 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d). This marked an increase of 6 percent year-on-year (1.6 boe/d in 4Q2022).
For the full 2023 fiscal year, Eni saw a slight increase of 3 percent in its hydrocarbon production to 1.66 million boe/d, compared to the 2022 fiscal year (1.61 boe/d).
Earlier, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Almassadam Satkaliev, stated that the country's oil production would be around 90 million tons in 2023, despite early plans to generate 92–93 million tons.
According to him, about 18 million tons of oil produced in 2023 went to the domestic market. About 56 million tons were exported through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Moreover, the country plans to increase oil production in 2024 to 90.3 million tons.
Furthermore, gas production volume in Kazakhstan amounted to 59.1 billion cubic meters in 2023. The volume of liquefied petroleum gas production at the end of 2023 amounted to 2.95 million tons, and consumption was 1.8 million tons. In addition, in 2024, 60.5 billion cubic meters of gas are expected to be produced in the country. The forecast for 2024 for liquefied petroleum gas production is 2.95 million tons, and consumption is 2.1 million tons.
